Liberation runs a fifteen minute video interview with Blutch, the first installment in a weekly “Janvier en BD” interview series leading up to the annual Festival International de la Bande Dessinée (FIBD) in Angoulême, France. The FIBD takes place January 29 through February 12, 2009. Subsequent video interviews will feature Lisa Mandel & Tanxxx, Pieter de Poortere, and Daniel Clowes.

Bill Kartalopoulos teaches comics at the New School University, is the Programming Director of SPX: The Small Press Expo, and writes about comics for Print Magazine. He recently curated Kim Deitch: A Retrospective at MoCCA. He is available for freelance writing, editing, public speaking and teaching assignments and can be reached at kartalopoulos-AT-gmail. He lives in Brooklyn, where he is working on a book about comics.-
